It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.

I am a 25 year old male from Haldwani, staying in Delhi for the past few years. I am Bank exam aspirant. I did not clear the IBPS Prelims. My total obtained score was 105. And am writing this open letter to express my experience.

Today in my life, there are two types of people- those who cleared IBPS  Prelims and those who didn’t. Ranging from my friends from coaching to peers at Facebook study groups, all can be divided into these two categories. For the past few days, I have felt sad and cannot understand why my hard-work did not pay off.

In many ways, I was tempted to consider myself a failure, but I’m NOT a failure.  I believe there is a great difference between failing an exam and becoming a failure. In my mind, a failure is a person who gives up on their dream- and I have not given up my dream of making my parents and family proud of me.  Failing an exam is a temporary setback.  It is a tragedy to be mourned .

I have decided to move on. My younger brother who is a literature student at Hindu College in University of Delhi gave me these 5 quotes on failure. These have moved me to move on with my life and try harder next time. Hope it also helps those like me and others who have often failed to move through the stages in the often stressful competitive exams.

And best of luck for the IBPS Mains, SSC and the others exams to be conquered in our lifetimes.
