About Tier-3 Examination (Skills Based Test)
This round will be conducted for the candidates who qualify the written examination. This round is qualifying in nature and it would test a candidate’s skills pertaining to the post he has applied for.

Staff Selection Commission Combined Matric Level Exam has been replaced to SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Exam for the recruitment to the post of Lower Division Clerks, Data Entry Operators, Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants in various departments under Central Government. Job profiles of DEO (Data Entry Operator) and Lower Division Clerk (LDC) both Group C and Pay Band-1 are crucial and irreplaceable need of various government ministries, departments and offices. Data Entry operators undertake processing of data, Lower Division Clerks are given functions that include registration , maintenance, indexing and recording, typing, comparing and preparation of various statements.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidate should have passed class XII (10+2) or intermediate exam or equivalent from a state or central recognized institute.
Age Limit
Candidate’s age must be between 18 years and 27 years as on 1 August 2015.
Upper Age Relaxation -Relaxation in age will be given for the candidates belonging to reserved category as per the government rules. The following categories will be relaxed with respect to age.
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- PH – 10 years
- PH + OBC – 13 years
- PH + SC/ST – 15 years

Application Process
Eligible and interested candidates can fill the form in online mode or offline mode. Applicants other than reserved category and female candidates will have to pay the fees of 100/- only for this recruitment process. Procedure of applying
Offline Mode
Candidates can buy the application form through designated sale centres and offices. Moreover, forms can be availed through post by sending request. Along with the application form, affix photocopies of the necessary documents for authentication. Once the form is filled and all photocopies are attaches, they must send it to the SSC before the last date.
Online Mode
Online application form can be filled on the official websites. Select the appropriate link and fill all the details. After filling the form, upload scanned images of passport size photograph and signature and submit it online.
Image Specifications for Application Form of SSC CHSL
Size of the photo image must be less than 12 kb and greater than 4 kb and of resolution 100 pixel widths by 120 pixels height.
Size of the signature image must be less than 12 kb and greater than 1 kb and of resolution 140 pixel widths by 60 pixels height.
All images must be in JPG/JPEG format and of 8-bit in nature.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2015
Part I
- There shall be 4 parts of the single question paper. 50 questions each would be asked from these sections.
- These parts are – General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness.
- Weightage of each section is 50 marks.
- Duration of the exam is 2 hours or 120 minutes.
- The Paper will consist of objective type (multiple choice questions) only.
- Questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-I, III & IV.
- There will be negative marking of ¼ marks for each wrong answer.

Part II
This round will be conducted for the candidates who qualify the written examination. This round is qualifying in nature and it would test a candidate’s skills pertaining to the post he has applied for.
Typing Test for LDC
Typing test will be held for those candidates who qualify in the written examination. This test will be conducted in English or Hindi. A candidate need to specify the language of typing while filling the application form. This test is qualifying in nature and would be taken on a computer, which would be provided by the Commission or any agency authorized. The candidates who opt for English medium must have a typing speed of 35 words per minute and those who opt for Hindi medium must have typing speed of 30 words per minute.
Skill Test for Data Entry Operator
Skill test will be held for those candidates would qualify in the written examination. They must maintain a data entry speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) key depressions per hour on a computer. Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on computer will be judged on the basis of correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage. Duration of this test will be 15 minutes. Printed matter in English language which would contain about 2000- 2200 strokes/key-depressions would be provided to each candidate.

Only those aspirants will be appointed on post of LDC and DEO who will breach the following three hurdles –
Tier 1 written exam objective
Tier 2 written exam subjective
Tier 3 computer test (English/Hindi typing minimum 30 wpm)
Salary:
All selected candidates will receive salary under Pay band which is 5200-20200/-with grade pay of 1900/-Rs per month. Other allowances like DA, HRA and other will also give to the employees according to central government pay schemes.
